Bashar on “Macbeth Arabia”…first of its kind
“Gulf News” visits the set of “Macbeth Arabia” and talks to Bashar about his involvement in bringing such unique First-Of-Its-Kind project to life.
Bashar talks about working with Professor Tony Tassa, head of the Performing Arts Program, to mold the Shakespearean play into a Middle Eastern and Arabic Culture look and feel.
Bashar also talks about his work on the project as the lead role “Macbeth” and as the Acting Coach for the cast.
A play that was the first open-to-public shakespearean play in the region, completely sold out, and was extended for several days due to public demand.
The play was held at the American University of Sharjah “AUS”, and was applauded by HH Sheikh Sultan Al-Qasimi, ruler of Sharjah, who instructed the president of AUS to turn the program into a full Performing Arts Department after attending the successful show.
